Robert Conway



Robert Conway is assistant professor of piano and music history as well as director of the piano division at Wayne State University. Since 1989, he has performed regularly as orchestral pianist with the Detroit Symphony Orchestra. He is an active interpreter of 20th century music and in 1997 served as an artistic ambassador of the USIA during a month-long tour of South Asia and the Middle East. In September 1999, he performed Rachmaninoff's "Rhapsody on a Theme of Paganini" with the Ann Arbor Symphony Orchestra. In December 1999, he was a soloist in J.S. Bach's "Brandenburg Concerto No. 5" with the Detroit Symphony Orchestra. This past spring, his world premiere recording of William Bolcom's "Haunted Labyrinth" was released on the Detroit Chamber Winds recording of Bolcom's music on Koch International.
