The Salty Dogs



These dogs lead the pack of traditional jazz musicians! Formed in 1947 when they were pups at Purdue University, the Salty Dogs were weaned on the music 1920s jazz greats such as Hoagy Carmichael, The New Orleans Rhythm Kings, Jelly Roll Morton and Louis Armstrong. Over the years, the Dogs have performed with jazz legends including "Little Brother" Montgomery and "Banjo" Ikey Robinson. Come out for a tail-wagging good time with Lew Green, cornet; John Cooper, piano; Kim Cusack, clarinet; Wayne Jones, drums; Tom Bartlett, trombone; Mike Walbridge, tuba; John Kuncl, banjo; and Carol Leigh, vocals.
