Veronika String Quartet



The Veronika String Quartet was formed in Moscow in 1989 under the direction of Valentin Berlinsky, cellist of the Borodin Quartet. They have been awarded top prizes in competitions in Russia, Australia and the United States in 1990, 1991, 1995 and 1996. Since 1992, the quartet has received numerous scholarships from music schools in the U.S. including the University of Milwaukee's Institute of Chamber Music, Miami University in Oxford, Ohio and the College-Conservatory of Music at the University of Cincinnati. The members of the quartet include violinists Veronika Afanassieva and Karine Garibova, violist Olga Miliaeva and cellist Roza Borisova. They are currently artists in residence at the University of Southern Colorado and the principal players for the Pueblo Symphony string sections.
