| While still a student at the Guildhall School of Music in London, Michael Davis
was awarded First Prize in the International Carl Flesch Competition and the medal of the
Worshipful Company of Musicians. After further study at the Staatliche Hochschule fur Musik in Koln,
Germany, he made his United States debut at Town Hall, New York, and has appeared as recitalist and
soloist at Town Hall, Carnegie Hall and the Metropolitan Museum of Art. Michael Davis plays all the
standard repertoire, but he is also keenly interested in the work of contemporary composers and
has had many new works dedicated to him. A much recorded artist, his recordings on the Kock, Naxos,
Schwann, Summitt and Vienna Modern Masters labels have been highly acclaimed internationally.
In addition to his work as soloist, chamber musician and Professor of Violin at The Ohio State
University, Michael Davis also gives seminars and master classes at other institutions and cities
