An Evening with Arturo Sandoval

OU-L Wendel Concert Stage 8:15 PM

Cuban trumpet sensation Arturo Sandoval and his band join the Lancaster Festival Orchestra on Saturday, July 19.

Arturo Sandoval’s Grammy award winning musical style is an explosive mixture of jazz, classical and traditional Cuban music. “For Love or Country: The Arturo Sandoval Story,” a popular HBO movie, relates the story of Mr. Sandoval’s defection to the US with the help of his mentor, Dizzy Gillespie.

As a special treat on the program, members of the Athens High School Jazz Ensemble, winners of the Lancaster Festival’s spring competition, will sit-in with the Sandoval band for a few selections.
