Major Arts for Minors - Dance
Major Arts for Minors offers a fun introduction to many art forms through live performances and interaction with artists. The series is designed for children aged 9-12. For the dance segment, Monica Kridler of BalletMet introduces students to movement, music, choreography and performance. A 15-minute “informance” by students follows at 11:00 a.m.

Thaddeus Rex
T-Rex roars into town to share his songs and silliness that encourage reading and imagination. Thaddeus received best song honors from the Children’s Music Web Awards in 2004 and his debut CD was recognized with an Honors Award from National Parenting Publications Awards.

Lone Raven
Lone Raven performs a mix of Celtic, world and original music with diverse instrumental arrangements and haunting vocals sung in English, Spanish, Irish Gaelic and Latin. Band members include Craig Markley, Kara Markley, Sid Omasta, Beckie Boger and Robb Jarrett.

Cafe Concert #2 - "Mostly Mozart"
Pianist Judith Lynn Stillman introduces and performs, with other orchestra musicians and Festival friends, a variety of works by the incomparable Mozart. Performers include: Steven Rosenberg, oboe; Ben Wiant, piano; Jason Posnock, violin; Susan Spafford, violin; Ivetta Natzkaya, viola; and Anne Sellitti, cello.
Ms. Stillman has won 18 national and international contests including the International Music Scholarship Association’s Artists Competition, the Juilliard Concerto Competition and National Arts Club Society’s Competition. She entered Juilliard at age 10 and in later years was the youngest student admitted to the school’s doctoral program. Upon graduation, she was awarded the Dethier Prize for Outstanding Pianist. She is Wynton Marsalis’ personal accompanist. Their SONY classical recording reached the Top Ten on the Billboard Charts. Currently, Ms. Stillman is artist in residence and professor of music at Rhode Island College and serves on the piano and chamber music faculties at the New England Conservatory.

High Street Stompers
The High Street Stompers Dixieland Band was formed in 1987 when the members were professors at OSU’s School of Music. The group has produced three recordings and includes members: Tom Battenberg, trumpet and leader; Michael Cox, clarinet; Jim Masters, trombone; Paul Robinson, banjo; Sid Townsend, tuba; and Jim Curlis, drums.
