Opening Night - "Immortal Mozart"
In celebration of the 250th anniversary of the composer’s birth, the 2006 Festival opens with an exhilarating tribute to the incomparable genius of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. Special guest artists include the Lancaster Chorale, Opera Columbus competition winner
Laura Smith
and bass-baritone Bryan Glenn Davis.
Maestro Gary Sheldon conducts the Lancaster Festival Orchestra. Superb musicians from the Orchestra, including concertmaster Michael Davis,
, principal violist Paul Ehrlich, principal flutist Margaret Swinchoski, and principal harpist Anastasia Jellison are featured soloists in two beloved concertos. A most inspirational evening of music making awaits!
