Major Arts for Minors - Poetry with Melinda Baker
Ms. Baker has spent 25 years performing and teaching dance throughout the U.S. Her training includes The Baker School, Washington School of the Ballet and American Ballet Theatre. She has appeared with the Chicago Ballet, Ballet Hispanico, Eglevsky Ballet, BalletMet Columbus and Deutche Oper am Rhein in Dusseldorf. Ms. Baker is a founding member of Columbus Dance Theatre. She appeared in the role of Coquotte in the Ruth Page production of “Die Fledermaus” filmed for PBS.

Teen Songwriting CD Project with Arnett Howard
Arnett Howard teaches middle and high school students how to turn their song ideas into finished pieces. Students will learn to record, mix and master the results to CD; create disc art and liner notes; and have completed a CD by Friday. Some outstanding songs may premier at the Friday night concert with Big Daddy Blue. Advance registration is required. Call 740-687-4808.

Barbara Bailey Hutchison
Get ready to have fun and dance in your seat with Barbara’s interactive sing-a-long about reading and going to the library. Ms. Hutchison has released eight CDs of children’s music, three of which were nominated for Grammy Awards. She performed at the White House in 2005 and 2006 and has sung advertising jingles for major corporations including McDonald’s and Hallmark Cards.

Blues songwriter, guitarist and vocalist Nerak Roth Patterson has shared the stage with some of the most influential blues performers, including B.B. King, Jethro Tull and Guy Davis. His latest CD is titled Brown Angel.

Bike Races for Kids
Children ages 10 and under can take to the streets in Fairfield Medical Center’s annual Grand Prix. The sprint-style race will feature boys and girls in age groups 5-6, 7-8 and 9-10. A new race has been added for children under age 5. A bike-decorating contest will be held for non-racing entrants. Prizes will be awarded for race winners and best decorations!

Dance the night away with Big Daddy Blue. The band plays an outstanding mix of musical styles including Sinatra-type swing, contemporary smooth jazz, popular funk, rhythm and blues, 80’s dance, Motown and rock with style and flair.

Arnett Howard presents: A tribute to Ray Charles
Even before he finished last year's swinging “Tribute to the Three Louies” concert, Arnett Howard announced he wanted to present “A Tribute to Ray Charles.” The tribute features Ray Charles alumnus Roger Hines, a bassist with Ray's orchestra for decades, as well as saxophone great Chuz Alfred. Jazz diva Louise Salvador sings some Ray Charles classics.
