Thomas Pylinski

Thomas Edward Pylinski holds a Bachelor of Music degree in Trombone Performance from the Cleveland Institute of Music and a Master of Music degree in Trombone Performance from the University of Akron. He has studied with Edward Zadrozny, Steven Witser, Richard Stout, Harold Reynolds and John Marcellus.

Today, Tom maintains an active career as a freelance musician and private music teacher in Northeast Ohio. He is second trombonist of the Akron and Canton Symphony Orchestras and is principal trombonist of the Lancaster Festival Orchestra. He has also performed with numerous other ensembles including the Paragon Brass Quintet, Red {an orchestra}, the Cleveland Philharmonic Orchestra, the River Cities Symphony Orchestra, the National Repertory Orchestra, the Chautauqua Music School Festival Orchestra, and the Cleveland Institute of Music Orchestra.

Tom is on the faculties at Malone University and the Avon School of Music, and teaches in the Ohio public schools. He has taught at the Ohio Music Educators Association Convention in Columbus. In addition, Tom serves on the literature review staff of the International Trombone Association Journal, where he has recently had published several reviews of works for trombone ensemble.
